Leather Up Ltd was incorporated on December 02, 1990 as a Private Limited Company, which was converted into a Public Limited Company on May 15, 1993 (the subscription date was July 14, 1994). The paid up capital of the company is Rs. 60.00 million divided into 6.00 Million ordinary shares of Rs. 10/- each. The company is also listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited (previously Karachi Stock Exchange) on September 14, 1994.
The company was formed to manufacture and export top-class Leather Bags, Leather Garments and other Leather Goods. The trial production of the company started in January 1991, while commercial production began on April 22, 1991.

The company facility has a covered area of around 9,000 Sqft, which consists of production halls with manufacturing units, warehousing and office space for management staff. In addition, the company also has ownership of land measuring up to one acre (4,850 Sq. yd, approximately 43,650 Sq. ft,) in Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi.
The company has plans to expand and enhance its production capacity to gain maximum leverage in the industry. The company has the capability to export leather goods worth more than Rs. 300 million annually within its existing production capacity.
